Marielle Hall

The New Jersey Cross Country season came to an end on Saturday, November 21, 2009 in Holmdel, New Jersey. One hundred and seventy-nine girls lined up to compete for the State title. The weather was great for Cross Country running, it was partly sunny and the course was firm.

The favorites were Chelsey Ley and Megan Venable, the race got off to a good start up the hill. As they crest the hill and was out of sight of many spectators the race took shape. With about 17.00 minutes into the race Chelsey Ley began to assert herself. While at the finish line the large gathering of spectators waited to see who would come out of the hills first, with 17.30 into the race Chelsey Ley came out first followed by Megan Venable and Marielle Hall in third they finish in that order.

I wrote in the previous post that Marielle Hall would have a strong showing. I did not see any of the New Jersey so called experts giving Marielle Hall a chance to finish in the top five. As I predicted she would, she did. She ran a strong race to finish third and captured the bronze medal. I will tell you now... Marielle Hall will be in the top three in the 800m or mile which ever one she runs indoor.
